Cascading Symbols

MONOPOLY Utility Trails is played on a grid with seven rows and eight columns.

Symbols involved in winning combinations explode to leave empty positions on the grid, which are filled by symbols cascading down.

Cascades occur after all winning symbols have been evaluated and have disappeared.

New winning combinations are evaluated after each cascade and the process repeats until there are either no more wins awarded or a maximum of ten cascades has been awarded.

Multiplier wins are added together, with all win amounts shown in the paytable.

Clusters

When five or more paytable symbols form a connected Cluster, a win occurs. 

A Cluster is a group of symbols where each symbol touched at least one other of the same type along a horizontal or vertical edge.

Wild Clusters only substitute for adjacent symbols and do not have an associated paytable prize.

A winning combination can only be awarded if at least one instance of a paytable symbol appears adjacent to a Wild Cluster, either horizontally or vertically.

Only the highest single paytable prize is awarded per Cluster. 

Wild Symbols

Wild symbols substitute for all other symbols except the Electric Company Bulb symbol and the Water Works Tap symbol.

Wild symbols involved in winning combinations will explode and disappear.

If a Wild symbol is not used in a win, it will remain on the board until the end of the spin.

A Wild symbol can only be allocated to a single Cluster, and can only form Clusters with adjacent symbols.

Wild substitutions leading to the highest paying board win are awarded.

Wild Tracks

The Wild Tracks feature is triggered whenever a Golden Wild symbol lands in the same column or row as another Golden Wild symbol.

Carriage Wild symbols replace all symbols between the Golden Wilds in that row or column.

If the Golden Wilds symbols form a square, the Carriage Wild symbols will expand to cover all symbols within that square.

 

Carriage Wild Symbol

If a Carriage Wild symbols is still on the board after a cascade, it transforms into a Golden Wild symbol.

If it is possible for an Electric Company Bulb symbol or Water Works Tap symbol to be replaced by a Carriage Wild symbol, then they are replaced by a combination of Wild/Electric Company Bulb symbol or Wild/Water Works Tap symbol respectively.

Community Chest Feature

It is possible for a 3x3 Community Chest symbol to randomly land during a spin or cascade.

The Community Chest will open to reveal a random cash prize, before exploding and disappearing once the feature ends. 

This feature can award between five and 1000x your total bet.

Water Works Bonus

The Water Works Tap symbol can only land during the main game. 

When it lands, it increases the gauge shown to the right of the board before exploding and disappearing.

Collecting 15 Water Works Tap symbols will fill the gauge and trigger the Water Works Bonus.

Any additional Water Works Tap symbols collected over the triggering 15 will not be kept.

If the Water Works Bonus and Electric Company Bonus is triggered in the same spin, the Water Works Bonus will play first.

During the Water Works Bonus, spins will occur until a winning Cluster(s) land.

All winning Clusters are locked in place on the reels until the end of the bonus.

Non-paying symbols cascade, while any symbols that increase the previous Cluster value or create new Clusters are locked in place.

The taps above the board can activate at any point and pour water, which will activate one of the two modifiers available.

When there are multiple Clusters of different symbols and the taps activate, all Clusters are upgraded to match the one with the highest value symbol - if all the Clusters are of the same symbol, they are upgraded to the next highest symbol in the paytable.

The Water Works Bonus ends when a spin results in no more Cluster upgrades or water tap triggers.

Golden Wild symbols cannot land during the Water Works Bonus.

Electric Company Bonus

The Electric Company symbol can only land during the main game. 

When it lands, it increases the gauge shown to the right of the board before exploding and disappearing.

Collecting 15 Electric Company symbols will fill the gauge and trigger the Electric Company Bonus. 

Any additional Electric Company symbols collected over the triggering 15 will not be kept.

During the Electric Company Bonus, the symbols on-screen are replaced with the following:

• Property Cards - collect for cash values (Property Cards base values are between 0.5 and 25x your total bet)
• Colour Tiles - collect to upgrade Property Cards
• Chance Cards - reveal a House or a Hotel

You are awarded three lives for the bonus.

Any Property Cards that land in the bonus are held in place for the duration of the bonus.

If all 56 positions are covered by Property Cards, no additional spins will be played.

Clusters made of Colour Tiles will explode and disappear.

If Colour Tiles Clusters match the colour of any of the Property Cards currently on-screen, then the associated Property Card will double in value.

Clusters of Colour Tiles do not award a credit prize.

Chance cards are flipped when they land to reveal either a House or a Hotel.

The following modifier will then trigger:

• House - increases the value of a random Property Card by x2
• Hotel - doubles the value of all Property Cards currently on the board

Chance cards that have applied a multiplier explode and disappear.

Failure to land a Property Card, obtain a Colour Cluster, or land a Chance card, will cost one life and cause one of the light bulbs to go dark.

The board will re-spin whenever a life is lose - Property Cards stay in place when this happens.

The Electric Company Bonus ends once all three lives have been lost.

At the end of the bonus, the sum of the prizes on the Property Cards shown on-screen is awarded.

Off The Rails Jackpot

The Off The Rails Jackpot is awarded when the entire board is filled with Wild symbols during the main game.

This is possible by having one Golden Wild symbol in each corner during a spin, or by having a total of ten cascades in a single paid main game.

Achieving ten cascasdes during the main game will award the Off The Rails Jackpot on the next cascade, ending the main game.

Triggering features after the jackpot has been awarded is possible.

The Off The Rails Jackpot value is £20,000.

The expected return is the amount we pay out to players relative to the amount of wagering on the game.
